Services We Provide

At Gallaudet University Hearing & Speech Center, we provide comprehensive evaluation and intervention services to individuals of all ages and a variety of groups within the Gallaudet community, as well as the Washington DC Metropolitan Area.

Among the populations we serve are those who are Deaf and hard of hearing, individuals whose speech and language might be delayed, as well as individuals who may be diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, patients recovering from traumatic brain injury (TBI) or stroke, and patients living with some level of dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease.
 
Without exception, our services are customized to meet the client’s strengths and needs. Our holistic approach considers all aspects of the client, including individual challenges and goals, and takes them into account before developing a recommended comprehensive course of action. To meet the communication needs of all our clients, the Hearing & Speech Center clinicians use American Sign Language and spoken English and Spanish.

Audiology Services

Our center offers full complement of audiology services, including hearing testing, hearing aid assessment and fitting, dizziness and balance testing, as well as assessment for central auditory processing issues.

Our speech-language therapists offer diagnostic and therapeutic services for pediatric and adult clients, as well as a range of community and group sessions, aural rehabilitation and communication therapies.
